Traffic Cameras are everywhere – on motorways, ordinary roads and in unmarked Police vehicles. If you are a motorist then, however careful you are, you may be captured committing a road traffic offence at some time in your motoring life.
The penalty points system tries to ensure that so long as these are one-off incidents often they will not cause you too much inconvenience. However if you begin to collect points or commit serious offences you can soon put yourself at risk of losing your licence and with it sometimes your livelihood and your whole way of life.
All sorts of offences carry endorsement – you would expect speeding and going through a red signal, but defective tyres and parking on pedestrian crossings carry points as does forgetting to renew your insurance or letting someone else drive your car uninsured.
